Job Description: Mechanical Engineer
Join our team as a Mechanical Engineer, where you will be integral in developing layouts, concepts, specifications, and designs for new product developments as well as redesigning existing products. You will apply your engineering expertise in mechanics, statics/dynamics, and thermodynamics to evaluate and enhance product designs and upgrades.
Responsibilities
+ Develop layouts, concepts, specifications, and designs for new product developments and product redesigns.
+ Use mechanics, statics/dynamics, thermodynamics, and other engineering disciplines for calculations and evaluation for product designs and upgrades.
+ Perform analysis and testing to ensure product performance and reliability requirements are met.
+ Conduct feasibility studies and prepare preliminary cost estimates for designs and redesigns.
+ Assist in generating detailed specifications for individual components of new designs and replacement components in end-of-life and cost reduction projects.
+ Communicate with vendors to develop specifications for components and processes.
+ Draft customer instruction sheets and manage manual revisions.
+ Fabricate mockups and build working prototypes of new products.
+ Work with Quality Control to approve vendor parts.
+ Write Engineering Change Requests and product structures.
+ Assist Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Assurance in vendor selection.
+ Perform product evaluations to determine if engineering standards are met.
+ Collaborate with operations, manufacturing/test engineering, and other support teams during design projects to achieve desired outcomes.
+ Adapt to perform other duties and assignments as required.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
+ 0-3 years of engineering experience.
+ Strong understanding of basic principles, theories, and concepts in mechanical engineering.
+ Proficient in solid modeling, with a preference for SolidWorks.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with manufacturing methods for sheet metal, plastic parts, and metal casting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Crete, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $87000.00/yr.
