Join the SUNY Delhi Human Resources team!
We're looking for a motivated Personnel Assistant (HR Generalist) to help deliver exceptional HR services to our dedicated campus community. In this role, you'll support benefits, onboarding, training, and compliance for nearly 500 employees while contributing to a collaborative and inclusive workplace. Key Responsibilities:
+ Coordinate and deliver a welcoming New Hire Orientation and onboarding experience.
+ Administer employee benefit programs (health, dental, vision, retirement, and supplemental retirement).
+ Respond to employee inquiries and process benefit transactions accurately in NYBEAS.
+ Serve as a liaison with external agencies, including insurance providers, retirement systems, and workers' compensation representatives.
+ Manage all employee leaves, including FMLA, parental, and workers' compensation.
+ Conduct offboarding and exit interviews for departing employees.
+ Maintain the HR benefits website and serve as a primary resource for benefit information.
+ Organize training sessions, information meetings, and the annual benefits fair.
+ Assist the Director of Human Resources with employee relations and labor-management matters.
+ Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
+ Participate on college committees and support institutional initiatives.
Job Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field, or Associate's degree plus 3 years of equivalent experience.
+ Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience.
+ Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
+ Experience handling confidential information.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
+ Proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with New York State Civil Service rules and procedures, or in public sector or higher education environments.
+ SHRM Certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
Additional Information:
+ Start Date: January 15, 2026
+ Work schedule: Calendar Year, 12-month, Monday-Friday, daytime hours (occasional evenings/weekends)
+ Salary: $60,000/annual
+ Reports to: Director of Human Resources and Affirmative Action
+ Budget Title: Personnel Associate, MP-5
