Facility:Work From Home - OhioDepartment:HIM - OperationsSchedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:The Patient Portal Specialist is responsible for overseeing portal activities related to patient/proxy application, enrollment, and access. This includes verifying the identity of the patient or proxy applicant, linking them to the correct medical and billing records, and ensuring the accuracy of patient demographics. The role also involves validating consent and guardianship prior to account activation and code generation. In addition, the specialist is required to review all MyChart accounts related to the patient and/or proxy to ensure proper linkage.
Department Specific Job Details:
Education
+ High school diploma or GED required
+ Associates degree preferred
Experience
+ 1-2 years of previous experience in Health Information Management (HIM), Patient Access, or Patient Accounts.
+ Experience using Epic or a similar electronic medical record system.
Additional experience required:
+ Excellent customer service skills.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Proficient computer and keyboarding skills.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
+ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely.
+ Adaptable and able to thrive in a changing environment.
Preferred Experience
+ RHIT Certification
+ Epic MyChart experience
