Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join a dynamic team in Overland Park area. In this key leadership role, you will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and deliver insightful analysis to support business decisions. This position requires advanced technical accounting expertise and the ability to mentor team members while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly management accounts and reconcile balance sheets for all business units.
• Analyze financial trends to identify potential overspending or errors and ensure accurate month-end reporting.
• Provide technical accounting expertise and guidance during month-end processes.
• Train and mentor entry level finance team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliation of tax and accounting registers.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis for raw material usage and purchase price variances, collaborating with supply chain for corrective actions.
• Deliver timely updates to project sponsors on budget performance, including alerts for potential overspending.
• Ensure compliance with updated tax legislation and communicate changes to the finance team.
• Support year-end audit processes and resolve intercompany account discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate cash flow updates and ensure consistency in financial data across global business units.
Requirements • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in SAP and advanced skills in general ledger and month-end close processes.
• Strong analytical capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members effectively.
• Solid understanding of inventory management and tax compliance.
• Exceptional organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
