    About Dr. Jennifer McEachron, DO — Gynecologic Oncology

     

    Dr. McEachron is the Chief of Gynecologic Oncology at Catholic Health

     

    She is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist, with dual certifications in Obstetrics & Gynecology (2021) and Gynecologic Oncology (2023).

     

    Her training includes a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center (completed 2021), and a residency in OB/GYN at Good Samaritan University Hospital.

     

    Dr. McEachron specializes in both the medical and surgical treatment of gynecologic cancers — including ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, vaginal, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers — and also performs advanced minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries.

     

    She is recognized as a “Master Surgeon” at the Center of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Good Samaritan and is a certified robotic surgeon using the da Vinci XI system.

    Position Summary

    The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will work collaboratively with Jennifer McEachron, DO, to provide comprehensive care to patients within the Gynecologic Oncology service line. The APP will deliver high-quality clinical care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, supporting the evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with gynecologic malignancies and complex benign conditions.

    Essential Responsibilities Clinical Care – Outpatient

    + Conduct new patient assessments, follow-up visits, treatment visits, and survivorship care under physician supervision and per scope of practice.

    + Perform comprehensive histories, physical exams, and diagnostic assessments.

    + Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, pathology) and develop care plans accordingly.

    + Manage chemotherapy-related and treatment-related symptoms in collaboration with the physician.

    + Provide pre- and post-operative counseling and education to patients and families.

    + Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board discussions as needed.

    Clinical Care – Inpatient / Perioperative

    + Support inpatient rounds, including pre-operative evaluations, post-operative management, and discharge planning.

    + Coordinate transitions of care between inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services.

    + Respond to inpatient consults within scope and escalate appropriately.

     

    Procedures

    (Adjust based on what the practice allows—examples below)

    + Perform procedures such as pelvic exams, specimen collection, colposcopy assistance, wound checks, and suture or staple removal.

    + Assist in surgical cases as permitted by credentials and departmental need (optional depending on practice).

    Care Coordination & Communication

    + Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care.

    + Communicate diagnostic results, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions to patients in a clear and compassionate manner.

    + Participate in scheduling and care coordination activities to optimize patient flow and clinical efficiency.

    Documentation & Compliance

    + Complete timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.

    + Maintain adherence to Catholic Health policies, CMS regulations, and New York State scope-of-practice laws.

    + Support quality improvement initiatives within the gynecologic oncology program.

    Qualifications

    + Education:

    + Master’s degree as NP (Women’s Health, Family, Adult-Gerontology) or PA from an accredited program.

    + Licensure/Certification:

    + Current NYS NP or PA license; applicable board certification.

    + DEA registration or eligibility.

    + Experience:

    + Prior oncology or women’s health experience preferred; gynecologic oncology experience strongly valued but not required.

    + Skills:

    + Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and patient-centered care skills.

    + Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team .

     

    Salary Range

     

    USD $69.54 - USD $97.00 /Hr.
