Job Description
Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company, is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst at our client in Minneapolis, MN.
The Senior Business Systems Analyst will serve as the key liaison between business and technology teams to support Separately Managed Account (SMA) initiatives. This role is responsible for gathering and translating business requirements, driving functional specifications, supporting testing and implementation, and ensuring high-quality solutions that enhance advisory and wealth management operations. Success requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, comfort with ambiguity, and deep familiarity with wealth management environments.
Responsibilities:
+ Gather, analyze, document, and translate business requirements into functional specifications.
+ Facilitate discussions between business units and technology teams to ensure alignment on requirements and objectives.
+ Understand business processes and system interdependencies across wealth management and advisory platforms.
+ Support SMA initiatives with traditional BSA activities and domain expertise.
+ Manage requirement traceability and change control processes.
+ Collaborate with architects to ensure system capabilities align with business needs.
+ Analyze complex system issues and recommend improvements or new solution designs.
+ Identify risks, issues, and potential solutions, communicating them effectively to leadership.
+ Create and execute test plans (approach, cases, scripts), including production checkout.
+ Ensure testing environments and data sets support full test coverage.
+ Develop procedural documentation, user guides, technical documentation, and support materials.
+ Ensure compliance with quality standards, project methodology, and documentation requirements (e.g., CMMi).
+ Provide clear status updates to portfolio/project managers and senior leadership.
+ Work effectively in a highly matrixed, cross-functional, and agile delivery environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Attributes:
+ Strong business analysis and documentation capabilities.
+ Experience in advisory or wealth management environments (required).
+ Familiarity with managed account platforms and model delivery processes (preferred).
+ Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and manage multiple priorities.
+ Proficiency with requirements and process tools (Visio, DOORS, HPQC, etc.).
+ Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including quantitative analysis.Additional Details
+ Self-motivated, highly collaborative, and comfortable in matrixed environments.
+ Testing experience required; SMA experience strongly preferred.
The base range for this contract position is $65.00 - $95.00 per hour, depending on experience; pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
