    CMTA, previously AMA Group, is hiring an Intern Project Estimator to aid Preconstruction and Project Management in preparing estimates, bids, and takeoffs. This position suits motivated students or recent graduates seeking practical experience with design-build and technology-focused projects. This position will sit in our Madison, New Jersey office.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist in preparing quantity takeoffs, material lists, and labor cost estimates for commercial construction projects

    + Review architectural drawings, MEP plans, and specifications to support detailed project scopes

    + Collect and organize vendor and subcontractor quotes

    + Participate in bid reviews, proposal development, and value-engineering exercises

    + Support budget tracking and cost comparison analysis throughout project phases

    + Maintain an organized estimating database, templates, and project documentation

    + Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers to ensure alignment between design intent and budget

    + Contribute to team meetings and provide administrative and technical support as needed

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    + Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field

    + Strong analytical and quantitative skills; attention to detail is essential

    + Familiarity with construction documents, estimating software, and Excel-based cost models

    + Basic understanding of construction means and methods, low-voltage systems, or interior buildouts, a plus

    + Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or Revit

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills
