FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Theatre at Hunter College seeks a full-time production manager at the faculty rank of Doctoral Lecturer to begin in August 2026. This position will supervise and support all aspects of production for our active BA, MA and MFA Programs including budgets, schedules, contracts and communication, as well as manage production personnel such as students and hired professionals. The candidate will teach theatre production and classes in other areas of specialization and advise student production activities. The candidate should have demonstrated a commitment to teaching, community engagement, and professional development, and should identify with the mission of the department which sees theatre as an integral part of a liberal arts education. The candidate will be an active participant department life and is also expected to cultivate connections between the department and professional theatres and industry specialists in New York City. The Hunter College Theatre Department is a diverse community of students and award-winning faculty right in the heart of New York City and its vibrant theatre scene.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise and support department production processes, including budgets, schedules, contracts and
communications.
• Manage production personnel such as students and hired professionals.
• Teach courses in theatre production and other areas of specialization.
• Advise student production activities.
• Serve on college and departmental committees.
• Contribute to departmental production planning and curriculum development.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Completed MFA or PhD.
• College level teaching experience
• Professional theatre experience
• Professional or College Production Management experience.

COMPENSATION

Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience within the range of title/s (Doc. Lect.: $89,933-$101,040).
_CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will increase by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement._
