    Job Summary and Responsibilities

     

    The **Behavioral Therapist** is responsible for providing high quality patient care, displaying good skills in assessment, treatment planning, group treatment, individual treatment, family treatment, and discharge planning. Additionally, he/she is expected to function well as a member of the multidisciplinary team and participate in the Unit Community Relations Program.

     

    + Conducts individual psychotherapy sessions, displaying theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and good treatment technique.

    + Conducts family therapy sessions, displaying good theoretical knowledge of family therapy principles and good treatment technique.

    + Conducts group therapy sessions, displaying good theoretical knowledge of group therapy principles and good group therapy technique.

    + Conducts educational group sessions, displaying good theoretical knowledge of subject matter and effective communication skills in presenting material.

    + Engages in timely, efficient discharge planning beginning at admission. Works in close conjunction with patient, family, guardians, legal system, nursing staff and attending physician. Shows good knowledge of referral/placement process and available community resources.

    + Completes social evaluations on assigned patients in a timely fashion. Displays good interviewing, diagnosis and report writing skills.

    Job Requirements

    + Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology from an accredited university.

    + One year field placement or one year’s experience working with Chemical Dependency/Mental health/Eating Disorders patients.

    + BLS required within 30 days. CPI required within 90 days of hire.

    + Therapist or Counselor License in State of AR.

    Pay Range

    $23.11 - $34.38 /hour
