Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. This role offers the opportunity for a new graduate to gain valuable skills and professional experience in a laboratory setting within a growing food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct product and microbiology testing to ensure quality standards.

+ Perform computer data entry and maintain laboratory records accurately.

+ Set up testing tables daily and maintain sample retention protocols for shipment.

+ Test raw ingredients and resample totes, including nonconforming and experimental totes.

+ Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCPs), and follow safety rules and regulations.

+ Complete all individual training as outlined by the training matrix or management training schedule.

+ Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor or Lab Lead.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Biology or Microbiology (Associate's degree will also be considered).

+ Experience in a laboratory setting.

+ Proficiency in bacteria culture and plating techniques.

+ Understanding of chemistry, quality assurance, and quality control processes.

+ Experience with wet chemistry and titration.

+ Strong data entry skills and experience in pipetting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in food testing and inspection.

+ Strong diagnostic skills.

Work Environment

The role is based in a laboratory setting within a food manufacturing facility located in Syracuse, NY. The environment adheres to high standards of cleanliness and safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of BALDWINSVILLE, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
