As a Chemical Operator, you will be responsible for operating chemical compounding equipment and ensuring the correct chemical reactions are achieved. You will follow specific batch sheets and meticulously document all corresponding information throughout your daily activities.
Responsibilities
+ Operate chemical compounding equipment to create the correct chemical reactions.
+ Follow specific batch sheets and document all corresponding information throughout daily activities.
+ Use specific measuring equipment to weigh out raw materials to the correct proportions.
+ Safely handle and properly dispose of regulated waste, wastewater, hazardous materials, etc.
+ Perform mathematical calculations to ensure correct amounts and percentages of materials.
+ Conduct quality control checks on finished, in-process, and raw materials as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in batching, blending, and compounding is highly preferred.
+ Ability to follow batch sheets, formulas, or instruction/ingredient lists.
+ Capability to operate production equipment beyond basic functions.
+ Understanding of strict SOPs, temperatures, and processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with chemical, compounding, and batch making.
+ Familiarity with raw materials, ingredients, sanitation, and CIP processes.
Work Environment
The work environment is clean, though some areas may be dirty or hot. Certain furnaces and hooded areas can be hazardous, requiring comfort with hotter environments and hazardous materials. The role involves working with every element on the periodic table in smaller teams. This is a 2nd shift opening, with hours from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime or weekend work. Initial training will occur on 1st shift. Compliance with safety processes, standards, and ISO regulations is mandatory. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $26.25/hr.
