Job Description:
As a Project Engineer, you will lead engineering duties for multi-disciplined natural gas pipelines, liquids pipelines, and facility projects. You will mentor junior engineering staff on design codes and considerations in these fields.
Typical projects include:
+ Pipeline mainline
+ Trenchless installations
+ Associated facilities (metering/regulation, compression, over-pressure protection, storage)
Responsibilities:
+ Perform and review linear pipeline design and calculations
+ Ensure compliance with codes and standards
+ Conduct quality checks and review manufacturer drawings
+ Prepare procurement specifications and construction documents
+ Evaluate bids and conduct conceptual design studies
+ Write reports and select materials/equipment
+ Observe construction and participate in project meetings
+ Support project permitting and other assigned tasks
+ Occasionally manage task-level efforts and act as deputy Project Manager
Qualifications:
+ 3+ years of oil & gas industry experience (midstream preferred)
+ Experience with natural gas pipelines and trenchless crossings
+ Familiarity with natural gas regulating facilities
+ Ability to handle site investigations, permitting evaluations, and environmental assessments
+ Experience interfacing with Federal, State, and local agencies
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth; ArcGIS strongly preferred
+ Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills
+ Ability to work independently and develop detailed plans from conceptual direction
+ Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical experience or degree preferred)
+ EIT or PE certification
+ Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
+ Familiarity with design software such as PLS CAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit

Work Environment:
+ In-office 3 days/week minimum (start time: 7–9 AM)
+ 20% travel (primarily within Colorado; occasional MN projects)
+ Downtown office (parking split) with potential expansion to DTC by end of 2026 (free parking there)
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.30 - $53.00/hr.
