    Controls Engineer – Themed Entertainment

    Orlando, FL | Full-Time | Engineering

    As a Controls Engineer, you will design, program, and commission advanced control systems for attractions and entertainment projects. You’ll collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and creative teams to ensure seamless integration of ride and show systems, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability.

     

    + Design and implement PLC, HMI, and motion control systems for rides and show equipment.

    + Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.

    + Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) and HMIs.

    + Integrate sensors, actuators, and safety systems into control architectures.

    + Conduct system testing, commissioning, and debugging onsite.

    + Provide technical support for installation, warranty, and sustaining engineering.

    + Ensure compliance with ASTM F24, NEC, OSHA, and other industry standards.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, project managers, and creative designers.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.

    + 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or themed entertainment controls.

    + Proficiency in PLC programming (Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens, or similar).

    + Experience with HMI design, VFDs, and motion control systems.

    + Strong knowledge of safety standards and risk assessment in entertainment or industrial environments.

    + Ability to interpret electrical schematics and create detailed documentation.

    + Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

    + Willingness to travel for onsite commissioning and support.

    Preferred:

    + Experience in the amusement or entertainment industry.

    + Familiarity with ASTM F2291 and other amusement ride standards.

    + Florida E.I.T or P.E. registration.

    + Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan, or related drafting software.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Orlando, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
