Job Title: Machining Department Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a Machining Department Supervisor to oversee the EDM Department. The ideal candidate will manage multiple wire EDM machines, identify and solve problems, and ensure high-quality standards through daily inspection using various types of equipment. This role involves training and assisting team members in programming and operating within the department.

Responsibilities

+ Oversee and manage the EDM Department, ensuring efficient operation of multiple wire EDM machines.

+ Identify and solve problems, read drawings, and inspect parts daily using various inspection equipment.

+ Train and assist team members in programming and operating within the EDM Department.

+ Create and assist in creating programs for parts as needed.

+ Inspect incoming work for dimensional integrity and ensure it matches the job description.

+ Machine pieces in accordance with work orders, blueprints, and specifications.

+ Execute and record programs on mills and lathes by setting tools, offsets, and tool compensation.

+ Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including CNC mills and lathes, to produce precision parts.

+ Create, execute, and archive G-code programs.

+ Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

+ Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and gauges.

+ Perform routine preventative maintenance on department equipment and notify management of non-routine maintenance needs.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of Mastercam experience, including programming and knowledge of writing programs.

+ Computer literacy.

+ Experience in setting up and operating lathes and mills.

+ Understanding of blueprint terminology and the ability to read and interpret prints.

+ Knowledge of G-code.

+ Experience in programming and operating an EDM (Electrical Discharge Machine).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficient in machining and Mastercam programming.

+ Strong supervisory and management skills.

+ Ability to perform calculations and use instruments such as micrometers and gauges.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Lansing, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
