Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

The chosen candidate will wear multiple hats in the facility, with the opportunity to be cross-trained on all processes within the facility.

Responsibilities

+ Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the day.

+ Break down raw materials and fill sacks, stacking them on pallets for the forklift operator.

+ Move pallets of material from one point to another within the facility.

+ Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and potentially some front-end loaders.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of forklift operating experience.

+ Strong math skills for weighing out materials.

+ Experience operating mobile equipment such as forklifts, sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, and heavy equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 2+ years of heavy equipment operation experience, including bulldozers, front-end loaders, bobcats, and overhead cranes.

+ Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

+ Proven reliability and strong attendance record.

+ Leadership experience is a plus.

+ Experience as a farm hand and/or railroad experience would be advantageous.

Work Environment

This role operates in a non-climate-controlled facility, which may be dusty on the shop floor. The position may also require some work outside of the shop. The first shift is from 6 am to 2:30 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Porte, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
