    Electrical Support Technician - San Diego, CA

    Job Description

    + Join our Elevator Support Unit (ESU) to support contracted skilled trades work on Weapon Elevators and Aircraft Elevators and their systems on U.S. Navy ships. The role involves performing a variety of skilled trades, maintenance, and technical tasks on aircraft carrier elevators, cargo handling systems, and associated equipment. This position is located in San Diego, CA, with potential travel within and outside the continental United States.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide electrical support by performing repairs, modifications, installations, logistics support, and material condition assessments.

    + Complete quality assurance documentation and conduct System Operational Tests.

    + Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment, including shipboard systems, integrated systems, and related equipment/software.

    + Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to minimize downtime.

    + Interface with customers and manage subcontractors, providing work direction as needed.

    + Develop and utilize technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports, and task or trip reports.

    + Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management.

    + Perform duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignments.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and installation.

    + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and related forms.

    + Familiarity with the US Navy 3-M (material, maintenance, and management) System.

    + Experience with wiring controllers and disassembling/reassembling MCT’s.

    + Experience in installing Cat 5, Coax, and power cables.

    + High School diploma, Trade School, or equivalent with 2 years of related experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Preferred experience with PLC systems.

    + Preferred proof of Copper and Multi-Pin certifications IAW NSI 009-73.

    + Review and comply with W-11-OPS-0005 (Cable Installation) and W-11-OPS-0006 (Cable Removal) upon hiring.

    + Provide individual hand tools of the trade and appropriate personal protection equipment.

    Work Environment

     

    The position operates from 0600 to 1430, Monday through Friday, onboard US Navy COMNAVAIRPAC assigned Aircraft Carriers at North Island Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA. The role requires compliance with specific technical and safety standards, with a focus on maintaining operational efficiency.

    This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
