Job Title: Mechanic
•** **Job Description
As a Service Technician, you will work primarily on Highway brand utility trucks, assembling diggers and excavators. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment, ensuring a dynamic work experience. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7am to 3:30pm.
Responsibilities
+ Build and install hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, and mechanical components on truck-mounted equipment.
+ Fit, weld, bolt, and secure parts using hand and power tools to create fully functional utility vehicles.
+ Follow blueprints and layout diagrams to assemble complex systems from the ground up.
+ Tear down and rebuild pumps, cylinders, valves, and other hydraulic components.
+ Replace worn or damaged parts, fabricate brackets and mounts, and recondition assemblies to factory standards.
+ Use diagnostic tools to pinpoint mechanical failures and restore equipment to working condition.
+ Wire control panels, lighting systems, and power units for cranes, lifts, and service bodies.
+ Troubleshoot electrical faults using multimeters and schematics.
+ Ensure all connections meet safety and performance standards.
+ Cut, grind, and weld metal to modify truck frames, mounts, and brackets.
+ Customize builds based on customer specifications, including tool storage, lift configurations, and control layouts.
+ Operate shop equipment like plasma cutters, drill presses, and hydraulic presses.
+ Work as a Field Service Technician after gaining one year of shop experience, servicing bucket and utility trucks on the road, potentially requiring travel from Monday to Friday.
Essential Skills
+ 1-2+ years of recent mechanic, automotive tech, or diesel tech experience.
+ Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs.
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints.
+ Skilled in welding and fabrication.
+ Competency with hand and power tools.
+ Strong cognitive thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
+ Experience in repair, wiring, and installation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Own a comprehensive set of tools: 200-300 piece socket set, wrenches, screwdrivers, hex keys, torque tools, and a proper toolbox/cart.
+ Wiring and 12v electrical service tools.
+ Drills and impact tools.
+ Preferred: Large wrenches, prybar set, hammer set, and work lights.
+ Physical ability to lift 40 pounds overhead, and work in various physical positions.
+ Ability to stand all day and move in all directions.
+ Team player with a flexible attitude.
+ Self-starter who can manage tasks independently.

The environment is collaborative, with team members working closely together, which can become bustling during busy times.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hopkins, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $70720.00/yr.
Ichra Insurance with a 65% premium.
Dental, vision, $10k in life insurance.
PTO: 80 hours year 1, 120 hours years 2+. (They are not strict about PTO. If someone needs to step away they will not give anyone a hard time.)
