Project Kuiper is seeking a Cleanroom Supervisor to join the Optical group within Production. This role will report to the Value Stream Leader and work closely with them to supervise a technician team that supports prototyping and manufacturing of all components and assembly of novel optical laser devices. The individual will have strong leadership skills and be required to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment where communication and organization will be critical. This position will also utilize a variety of analytical tools as well as aid in creating a variety of laboratory procedures which they will help to draft and maintain. This will require supervisory duties as well as working as an operator in the clean room.
Key job responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble optical prototypes in an ISO 7/8 Environment, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
- Supervise a team of technicians focused on early production and scaling output.
- Work with Senior Manager to plan and coordinate daily tasks for technicians and activities of all operations with an ability to adapt to changing schedules and other dynamic priorities.
- Work cross-functionally with management, facilities, and supply chain to maintain operations and materials for an ISO 7/8 cleanroom.
- Ability to provide timely feedback on designs, processes, and custom equipment used in routine prototyping, fabrication, and characterization.
- Author, maintain, and train others to all relevant process documentation, including Assembly, Inspection, Testing/In-Process Characterization, and Packaging Procedures.
- Review and approve rework to ensure accuracy and enforce traceability.
- Comply with all Company Policies including Health, Safety, and Environmental Regulations, Personal Protective Equipment Requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments
- 2+ years of mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience
- - 4+ years experience in a fast-paced production environment with Flight Hardware
- - 4+ years of hand on experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in development or technical support, or experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery
- Experience reviewing and understanding engineering design documents for electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical parts and assembly drawings of products
- Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing operations environment
- - 1+ years prior leadership experience, to include leading teams, projects or people
- Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license
- - Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $75,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $124,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
