    JOB SUMMARY

    Responsible for all activities associated with running the rotary die cutters including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.

    ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Primary Duties

    * Set-up print and die cut sections of die cutters in accordance with proper setup techniques.

    * Ensure all bolts on cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.

    * Inspect anilox rolls for damage, before and after each run.

    * Achieve 8-12 minutes set ups after proper training, or expectation set by Operations team

    * Achieve 100,000 MSF per hour on thru put, or expectation set by Operations team

    * Ability to read books to learn lean practices

    * Inspect all dies before and after run to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run.

    * Monitor box quality, including, not limited to loose liner, warp, correct size, and print.

    * Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.

    * Train and assist helpers/team members with job duties on the machine.

    * Cross train on other machines as required.

    * Switch duties with other team members as necessary.

    * Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.

    * Turn in maintenance work orders to supervisor for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.

    * Adhere to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.

    * Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.

    * Report unsafe conditions to supervisor.

    * Participates in month end inventory.

    * Assures that the work area is always safe and clean.

    * Participates in all safety and hygiene activities as required.

    * Participates in any extra curriculum activity deemed necessary by management.

    * Assist other department and/or areas as requested by management or supervisor.

    * Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.

    * Additional duties may be assigned by management.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    * High school diploma or GED

    * Successfully demonstrate all Class B qualifications

    * Prior work experience in the corrugated industry, preferred

    * Able to read and follow instructions on word orders, specifications, and machine drawings

    * Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    To successfully perform the essential functions of this role it requires the ability to: stand for long periods, walk frequently, squat, climb, bend, crouch, push-pull, carry, work at heights, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use radio, speak and listen frequently. Role requires ability to work in environment of excessive heat or cold, walking on uneven surfaces and frequent lifting up to 20 pounds.
