Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct preventative maintenance on all trucks and equipment, including daily inspections, greasing, and basic maintenance for road worthiness and effective use on routes and at various locations.

+ Prepare and complete paperwork or computer data entry for all service and repair work for documentation and record-keeping purposes, ensuring compliance with Dept. of Transportation rules and company policies.

+ Perform repairs and maintenance on trucks and equipment in areas such as hydraulics, cylinders, brake repair, electrical systems, engines, and body, which may include welding.

+ Service vehicles and equipment at predetermined intervals in accordance with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.

+ Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management team members.

+ Attend all necessary meetings as scheduled, including safety, training, and other company meetings.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in diesel troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.

+ Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, pneumatics, and engine repair.

+ Completion of a Diesel Mechanic education program or 3 years of experience in a full-service diesel repair shop.

+ Possession of a CDL Class B license is required, with Class A preferred.

+ USDOT medical certificate (med card) required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in welding and fleet maintenance.

+ Subject to drug screening as required by USDOT or company policy.

+ Willingness to complete additional safety and skills training when scheduled by the company.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
