Hybrid work schedule available, up to 50% telework depending on business needs. Telework can be outside of the state of Minnesota if the candidate lives in a state bordering Minnesota and lives 50 miles or less from the primary work location. Primary work location will be the Golden Rule Building in St. Paul.

The purpose of the position is to reduce financial loss to the citizens of Minnesota, and insureds of Minnesota domestic insurers in other states, through the performance of complex financial and statutory compliance analysis on insurance companies domiciled in Minnesota. The position will assist with training and review of work product for less senior analysts. The position will also perform analysis on issues/items for which the Department has no formal procedures in place, recommend actions on the approval of major transactions by insurers and act as the primary contact in the department for assigned domestic companies.
Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of experience performing analysis, exercising judgment, and relying on knowledge in financial analysis, public accounting, or similar experience with specialization in the insurance industry.
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration (Insurance), Finance, or a related field is equivalent to one (1) year of experience.
An Advanced degree in Accounting, Business Administration (Insurance), Finance, or a related field is equivalent to eighteen (18) months of experience.
Applicants who meet the above education/experience requirement will be further evaluated based on the following:
+ Experience leading and training staff.
+ Strong understanding of business operations, risk and risk management, and solvency monitoring.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
+ Five (5) years of analysis related experience.
+ Effective organization and time management skills.
+ Experience in regulatory compliance and/or research.
+ Relevant designations - AFE/CFE, CPA, CPCU, FLMI, APIR/PIR, etc.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
