Job Summary:
This role provides leadership and strategic direction to all membership and sales functions at the YMCA of Greater Seattle. The Director oversees strategies for unit growth, group partnerships, retention systems, data analytics, member experience standards, and sales operations. The position collaborates closely with branch executive teams, Marketing, Healthy Living, Operations, and Business Intelligence to deliver consistent, high-quality membership experiences across the association.

Minimum compensation: $85,000 - $100,00 Annually
Responsibilities
+ Develop and execute the association-wide membership and group sales strategy.
+ Set annual revenue, unit growth, retention, and corporate sales targets.
+ Oversee membership acquisition systems, sales pipeline management, and lead conversion processes.
+ Create standardized sales scripts, onboarding processes, and welcome-center operations.
+ Lead group membership, employer partnerships, and their sales strategy.
+ Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns, messaging, and lead-generation tactics.
+ Establish association-wide retention frameworks, including at-risk reporting and engagement benchmarks.
+ Provide coaching and development to branch Membership Directors.
+ Ensure consistency in SOPs, compliance reviews, and operational excellence across branches.
+ Represent the YGS in the corporate, business, and community sectors to grow employer partnerships.
+ Support innovation through new products, digital membership models, and pilot initiatives.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or equivalent experience.
+ 5+ years of experience in sales, membership leadership, or business development.
+ Experience leading teams and influencing across a multi-unit organization.
+ Strong understanding of membership systems, CRM platforms, and analytics.
+ Demonstrated ability to build relationships with businesses, schools, and community partners.
+ Strong communication, presentation, and strategic planning skills.
+ Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the YMCA mission.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
+ Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Travel
Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
