    Missouri Baptist Medical Center has an opening for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work part-time in an acute setting - orthopedic, surgical, oncology, cardiac, and general medical patients. A great opportunity to work with a diverse team at a community-based hospital!

    Overview

    **Missouri Baptist Medical Center** , an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

    The Center for Outpatient Therapy and Wellness at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is an 8,500 square foot outpatient therapy clinic for physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, massage therapy, and personal fitness. The clinic is located within the hospital, features 15+ subspecialties of care, and has a focus on 1:1 individualized care with our patients. Our current outpatient team has 22 licensed therapists, a great place for a therapist to grow and develop.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Role Purpose

     

    Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed physical therapist as specified in their health care service setting.

    Responsibilities

    + Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist.

    + Collaborates with the licensed physical therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient’s plan of care, treatment goals and interventions.

    + Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient’s discharge note from physical therapy.

    + Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the physical therapist.

    + Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.
