Refund Coordinator – Remote | Behavioral Health
Are you passionate about accuracy, problem-solving, and supporting the financial side of behavioral health services? We’re seeking a detail-driven **Behavioral Health Refund Coordinator** who thrives in a fast-paced remote environment and enjoys digging into claims, credit balances, and reimbursement workflows.
In this role, you’ll ensure timely and accurate refund processing for patients, payers, and programs while helping support a mission-driven organization focused on community mental health and recovery services.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and resolve credit balances, denials, and incorrect payments across patient and insurance accounts.
• Research accounts, verify balances, and update insurance and demographic information as needed.
• Process patient, payer, government, and internal refunds accurately and in compliance with regulations.
• Prepare daily/monthly refund reports and support internal audit requirements.
• Resubmit corrected claims, submit appeals, and respond to payer correspondence.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve rejections, underpayments, and recoupments.
• Meet productivity standards and month-end deadlines while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience with medical claims denials, healthcare reimbursement, behavioral health billing, or related experience.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers required.

• Fully remote position.

**Pay Details:** $24.00 to $28.00 per hour
