Adecco Staffing is assisting a Manufacturing Plant in Devens MA in sourcing for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This person plays a critical role within a multifunctional operations team, supporting the development, optimization, and standardization of extrusion and cleanroom manufacturing processes. This position contributes directly to operational excellence by driving performance improvements that support volume growth, enhance key manufacturing KPIs, and ensure robust production capabilities for both existing and new product assembly lines. This is a DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY.
Compensation
Salary range: **$100k-$150k DOE**
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Standardization
+ Lead the development, duplication, and standardization of extrusion and cleanroom processes to meet customer expectations and future business needs.
+ Collaborate with local and global engineering teams to transfer best practices, processes, and equipment specifications.
+ Support procurement and integration of special-purpose machinery and modified off-the-shelf (MOTS) equipment for new production cells.
Operational & Capital Project Support
+ Prepare, justify, and execute capital expenditure requests to support manufacturing operations.
+ Implement strong process controls to reduce rework, scrap, and waste while improving product quality and consistency.
+ Provide frontline troubleshooting, diagnostics, and production support for extrusion and assembly equipment.
Lean, Safety & Compliance
+ Lead and participate in safety, ergonomic, and Lean/GEM initiatives that improve workflow efficiency and workplace safety.
+ Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all manufacturing activities.
+ Support the creation and maintenance of standard work, process documentation, and ECO (Design Change) procedures.
Technology Transfer & Continuous Improvement
+ Participate in virtual and on-site process reviews with sending sites to support knowledge transfer for precision manufacturing technologies.
+ Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability of new product designs and support NPD initiatives.
Equipment, Tooling & Manufacturing Support
+ Arrange procurement of jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids; ensure equipment meets performance, quality, and safety requirements.
+ Maintain accurate production routing, Kanbans, and work order information within the ERP system.
+ Oversee training of production and assembly personnel on new processes, equipment, and technologies.
Qualifications & Experience
+ Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with extrusion processes and SPC-based process control.
+ Demonstrated experience analyzing and improving production equipment, processes, and workflows.
+ Background in Lean manufacturing, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement.
+ Experience working in cleanroom environments; Class 7 preferred.
+ Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools.
+ Hands-on experience with FMEA, DFMA, and RCA; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred.
+ Master’s degree in Engineering (Plastics/Extrusion preferred) or equivalent work experience.
+ 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field.
**Pay Details:** $100,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
