Quality Assurance Lab Technician
Type: Full-Time | Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Weekends & overtime may apply)
Role Overview
The Quality Assurance Technician ensures products meet safety and quality standards by monitoring production processes, conducting testing, and supporting compliance with food safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to all quality and food safety policies.
Perform pre-operational inspections and allergen checks.
Verify product labels for accuracy.
Conduct physical, chemical, and sensory tests; document results and address non-compliance promptly.
Monitor metal detectors and check weighers; take corrective action as needed.
Collect samples for microbiological and retained testing.
Lead by example in Good Manufacturing Practices.
Assist in managing non-conforming products to prevent shipment of substandard goods.
Support root cause analysis and problem-solving for quality issues.
Maintain accurate and organized records.
Collaborate with production and R&D during new product launches.
Perform additional tasks such as hygiene inspections, raw material checks, environmental swabs, equipment calibration, and foreign material investigations.
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. STEM related Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
1+ year of GMP quality experience. Quality experience within food manufacturing preferred.
Basic computer skills and ability to operate lab equipment.
Strong communication and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work 3rd shift

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
