Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The role involves communication with doctors' offices and insurance companies, inputting prescriptions, filling prescriptions, manual processing of prescription orders, and data entry. You will handle a volume of up to 500 scripts throughout the day, with increased activity during the latter part of the day. Inventory control is also a key responsibility, ensuring that items are ordered and checked in efficiently.

Responsibilities

+ Communicate with doctors' offices and insurance companies.

+ Input prescriptions from electronic or hard copies.

+ Fill prescriptions accurately and efficiently.

+ Manually process prescription orders.

+ Perform data entry tasks.

+ Manage inventory control, including ordering and checking in items.

Essential Skills

+ Pharmacy experience.

+ Data entry proficiency.

+ Strong customer service skills.

+ Familiarity with healthcare and retail pharmacy environments.

+ Experience in inventory management.

+ 3+ years of Pharm Tech experience in a supermarket or independent setting.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with customer service, claims, prior authorization, and insurance.

+ Certification is not required, but beneficial.

Work Environment

This position is based in the closed-door section of a local pharmacy with plenty of activity. You will never work alone, as there is always someone on shift with you. The environment is supportive and cohesive, with an owner who is very involved in day-to-day operations. The team consists of 35 employees, including 15 full-timers and 20 part-timers. The schedule is released on the 15th of every month, and the lead technician is accommodating as long as you communicate effectively. We are looking for a full-time employee with working hours from 8:30 am to 4 pm or 12 pm to 8 pm, Monday through Friday. Training hours for the first couple of weeks are from 10 am to 6 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westfield, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
