Job Title: Service Writer
Job Description
As a Service Writer, you will work closely with customers to diagnose and schedule repairs, ensuring seamless coordination between customers and technicians. Your role will involve creating and managing repair orders, estimating costs, scheduling repairs, and coordinating with the parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary components.
Responsibilities
+ Act as a liaison between customers and technicians, ensuring accurate communication of repair needs and progress.
+ Collaborate with parts department to source necessary components and ensure timely availability.
+ Participate in the on-call rotation to handle emergency service requests outside regular business hours.
+ Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, repair orders, and billing information.
+ Ensure repairs meet shop standards and customer expectations before vehicle/equipment release.
+ Identify and recommend additional services or maintenance based on vehicle/equipment condition.
Essential Skills
+ Strong understanding of diesel, troubleshooting, hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, brake, and transmission systems.
+ Proficient in diagnosis, parts, diesel inventory, pneumatics, and repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Exceptional customer service skills to greet and assist customers with inquiries and recommend appropriate parts and accessories.
+ Ability to learn and understand Carrier refrigeration unit product lines.

Work Environment
Work in a well-equipped, good-sized shop with 8-10 technicians and a field service crew. Experience a variety of work and receive uniforms and a tool allowance. The working hours are 7 AM to 5 PM from Monday to Friday, with on-call duties only 3-4 times a year.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $60320.00/yr.
