Description

We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. In this Contract to permanent role, you will play a key part in managing business-to-business collections and ensuring accounts receivable processes are efficient and effective. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team while contributing to the improvement of collections performance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 750 business accounts, ensuring timely and accurate collections.

• Collaborate with accounts receivable and credit teams to streamline collection efforts and resolve outstanding balances.

• Handle international collections, working with senior-level collectors to address complex cases.

• Utilize Salesforce and Excel to track, analyze, and report on collection activities.

• Support team development by assisting in the advancement of entry level collectors to higher-level roles.

• Address underperforming accounts and implement strategies to improve collections outcomes.

• Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and external clients to maintain positive relationships.

• Problem-solve collection issues efficiently, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

• Participate in office activities one to two days per week, fostering team collaboration and alignment.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all collection activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience with business-to-business collections, including managing large account portfolios.

• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• Proficiency in SAP, Salesforce, Excel, and other relevant accounting software.

• Ability to identify and resolve collection challenges with innovative solutions.

• Familiarity with international collection processes and practices.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
