Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our manufacturing team in Findlay, Ohio. This position is integral to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting the Plant Controller, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries related to plant operations, including inventory, cost of goods sold, and accruals.
• Conduct regular balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Manage month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring timely reporting of plant financials.
• Compile and analyze monthly financial statements and performance reports for the plant.
• Ensure the general ledger reflects accurate and compliant representation of financial transactions.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to maintain accurate cost accounting and inventory valuation.
• Support internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and analysis.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger or plant accounting, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
• Strong expertise in balance sheet management, account reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with standard costing principles, inventory accounting, and cost of goods sold is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Oracle, JD Edwards, or NetSuite.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA is preferred but not required.
