Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who excels in managing full-cycle accounts payable processes and vendor relations. You will play a critical role in ensuring smooth financial operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Accounts Payable inbox, including receiving, reviewing, and organizing vendor invoices and statements.

• Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and maintain clear and effective communication.

• Coordinate invoice approvals and provide guidance on general ledger coding to internal staff.

• Reconcile vendor statements regularly, ensuring all invoices are accounted for and following up on any missing documentation.

• Review and verify accounts payable batches for accuracy and completeness before posting them to the accounting system.

• Oversee the entire accounts payable process, from invoice verification to payment preparation.

• Identify opportunities to enhance processes and implement best practices in accounts payable.

• Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with the AP Entry Specialist to provide training and address common errors in invoice processing.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and compliance requirements. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle accounts payable experience.

• Familiarity with accounting systems such as Viewpoint Vista, Sage, QuickBooks, or NetSuite.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of invoices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of GAAP accounting and 1099 compliance.

• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries is highly desirable.
