Job Title: Bookkeeper
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our accounting team. In this role, you will manage financial transactions, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a potential for a hybrid work schedule and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
+ Receive accounts payable invoices daily, assign general ledger account numbers, and process them into SharePoint accounts payable workflow.
+ Maintain current vendor addresses, request employer identification numbers (W-9’s), and update EFT information in the accounting system.
+ Download deposit files from the bank daily and generate automated Great Plains lockbox journal entries for contribution receipts.
+ Integrate daily LCA postings to the Great Plains accounting system and reconcile subsidiary accounts receivable balances to the general ledger.
+ Prepare adjusting journal entries for processing contribution reports and accounts receivable activity.
+ Reconcile Local Collection Agents’ Lockbox deposits upon receipt of LCA’s 815 form and communicate to resolve reconciliation differences.
+ Review LCA expense reimbursement requests annually.
+ Research the status of outstanding checks for more than six months and reissue checks as necessary.
+ Prepare schedules for yearly activity of balance sheet and income statement accounts for audits.
+ Maintain monthly depreciation schedules and conduct yearly audits for Fixed Assets.
+ Prepare various reports for Trustees and Executive Secretary-Treasurer as assigned by the Controller and/or Accounting Manager.
Essential Skills
+ Demonstrated proficiency in accounting, bookkeeping, and reconciliation skills.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral forms.
+ Proficiency in operating a personal computer and electronic calculator with high accuracy.
+ Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word and MS Excel.
+ Ability to adapt to procedural changes and work collaboratively as part of a small team.
+ Capability to concentrate in an open area with frequent interruptions.
+ Proficiency in problem-solving and detailed research tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Working knowledge of automated accounting systems and plans’ charts of accounts after 90 days.
+ General understanding of rules regarding employer contributions and related processes.
+ Ability to complete assignments within deadlines and maintain composure under pressure.
Work Environment
This position requires onsite work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the contract-to-hire phase. Upon conversion, there may be opportunities for a hybrid work schedule, subject to managerial approval. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.85/hr.
