    Overview

     

    By joining our team, you will be at the heart of envisioning, creating, and crafting Microsoft business applications and the design system and platform on which we build within a center of excellence for customer engagement.

     

    As a Product Design Specialist in the Experience Studio within the Business and Industry Copilot (BIC) organization you will support ideation, creation and partnership with product teams to bring brand identity and visual storytelling to life. You will work collaboratively across the BIC product portfolio and sometimes across Microsoft to provide world class visual artwork. This opportunity will allow you to accelerate your career growth through cross team and cross org collaboration, learn a bespoke and best in class design system and work alongside best-in-industry talent. This role will offer flexible hours and the ability to work remotely at least two days per week.

     

    As a ** Senior Product Designer** , you will define specific product needs based on user insights to ideate to define solutions to meet user needs and create and develop design concepts and specifications that optimize the emotional and functional experience of a product, software, device, or service. This opportunity will allow you to focus on end-to-end user experiences, empathizing and balancing experiences with business and technical tradeoffs. You will produce visual designs from concept through delivery and sustainment, support interaction designs for hardware and/or software-based experiences, and partner with internal and external development teams, marketing and design groups to research and analyze customer feedback for incorporation into product enhancements, new product designs and overall design language and strategy.

    Responsibilities

    + You will interact with Engineering and perform QAs to ensure quality while showing the ability to challenge design limitations. You’ll also produce visual designs and mentor others on their creation.

    + You will create wireframes, journey maps, and other elements to support interaction design. You’ll also begin to lead product UX improvements by creating interaction models while acting as a liaison between users and products.

    + You will communicate with cross-disciplinary teams across all stages of design and development. You will also tell a compelling, convincing product story to a specific audience.

    + You will work with creative team members, program managers, and developers to define product features. You’ll collaborate with your team to deliver product design results while also providing guidance to product designers.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    + Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design

    + OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design

    + OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

    **Other Requirements** : Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

    + **Microsoft Cloud Background Check** : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design

    + OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design

    + OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

    + 4+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.

    + Experience producing and delivering 3D visual assets, product illustrations and asset libraries which align with a design system.

    + Proficient in Figma or similar design tools with experience in 3D design software (i.e. – Cinema 4D).

    Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
