**The Commerce + Ecosystem (CCE) Engineering** drives the backbone of Microsoft’s commerce and support ecosystem. The team is reimagining enterprise-grade tooling shifting from reactive, manual systems to AI-first, predictive, and self-service experiences. This role is central to enabling global scale, resilience, and simplification across mission-critical services such as risk engineering features, commercial commerce workflows, credit and fraud workflows, escalation handling, and partner experiences.

**The CCE Engineering team** **is hiring a Senior Software Engineer** to design and implement core technologies and intelligent experiences that impact Microsoft’s global support and commerce operations. In this role, you will build secure, scalable, and intelligent platforms infusing AI, agentic workflows, automation, and modern cloud-native patterns to empower Microsoft advocates, partners, and customers worldwide.

Responsibilities
+ Design and develop large-scale, distributed services and solutions leveraging Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Cosmos DB, Event Hub, Service Bus, and Microsoft Graph.
+ Architect and lead development of next-generation commerce platforms that integrate agentic AI, copilots, and autonomous workflows to enhance productivity and user experience.
+ Build and integrate AI-first Customer 360 experiences that consolidate commerce, and support data into intuitive, intelligent workflows.
+ Develop solutions to combat fraud and revenue leakage through proactive AI-driven observability, detection, and remediation frameworks.
+ Simplify global credit, escalation, and risk mitigation workflows by integrating AI-powered systems that improve transparency, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
+ Ensure software quality through design reviews, peer code reviews, automated testing, and monitoring best practices.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
**Microsoft Cloud Background Check:** This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
+ 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, and scaling cloud-native distributed systems with technologies such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker, Service Fabric, or equivalent orchestration solutions.
+ 3+ years of experience in technical architecture, dependency management, and cloud scaling patterns.
+ 1+ years of experience with agentic AI, Copilot integration, or AI workflow design.
+ Professional experience building applications with ASP.NET, React, Node.js, or similar frameworks.
+ Experience in Azure PaaS services such as Web Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Event Hub, Key Vault, SQL, and Cosmos DB.
+ Proficiency with engineering tooling: Git/GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, code quality automation, service observability, and lifecycle management systems.
+ Understanding of distributed computing patterns, resiliency engineering, and microservices architectures.
+ Passion for improving developer productivity through tooling, automation, and AI-driven workflows.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
