    The Sr. Strategy Manager will serve as a strategic, analytical, and collaborative partner within Smurfit Westrock\u2019s North America Paper Sales Marketing team. This role reports to and supports the Director of Paper Sales Marketing and works closely with three Sr. Marketing Managers to drive strategic planning, market insights, and execution across a $4B Paper Sales business and a $10B+ substrate portfolio.

     

    In addition, this position provides direct support to the Regional Vice President of Paper Sales through ad hoc reporting, competitive intelligence, and strategic recommendations that inform sales priorities and decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Deliver ad hoc reporting and strategic insights to the Regional VP of Paper Sales, including sales performance, market trends, and competitive intelligence.

    * Lead competitive intelligence efforts through close collaboration with the Strategic Intelligence team and by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing market data to inform strategic decision-making and identify emerging threats and opportunities.

    * Support the development and execution of strategic marketing plans aligned to Paper Sales growth objectives.

    * Formulate and implement business strategies that drive growth, improve customer experience, and strengthen market positioning.

    * Work closely with Sales, Product Management, Innovation, Product Development, Communications, and the Consumer and Corrugated Marketing Teams to support strategic initiatives.

    * Partner with Marketing Managers to ensure alignment and execution across key substrates and segments.

    * Lead and support market analysis, share of wallet, competitive benchmarking, share of wallet, and customer segmentation to identify growth opportunities and portfolio gaps.

    * Lead and support strategic initiatives including whitespace analysis (identifying unmet market needs), portfolio optimization, and go-to-market strategies.

    * Support innovation pipeline prioritization through market analysis, customer insights, and competitive landscape reviews.

    * Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and regulatory developments to inform proactive marketing strategies.

    * Support the creation of customer-centric content and enablement tools for sales activation.

    * Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, and performance tracking processes.

    Qualifications

    * Experience in paper, packaging, or manufacturing industries is strongly preferred.

    * Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and translate insights into actionable strategies.

    * 5+ years of experience in strategy, marketing, sales, sales operations; B2B experience preferred.

    * Proven expertise in competitive intelligence\u2014skilled in gathering, analyzing, and delivering actionable insights about competitors and market dynamics.

    * Demonstrated ability to develop and implement business strategies that drive measurable growth.

    * Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data sets into clear, actionable strategies.

    * MBA is a plus.

    * Some travel is required.
