Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT (CODE 720) of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will perform inspection, test, quality assurance and training functions for the Lifting and Handling department. You will provide managerial and administrative duties associated with the operation of the Division, such as organization and distribution of work, allocation of resources to particular projects, and resolution of personnel matters. You will approve and effect all disciplinary measures. You will provide long range planning, necessary to ensure timely accomplishment of all nuclear and non-nuclear work. You will direct the application of general policy and overall objectives on critical phases of inspection, testing, and quality assurance issues. You will analyze metric data for the lifting and handling program. You will perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience supervising a team regarding the work assigned including planning, execution, process management and resource management. Experience in maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing weight handling equipment using quality assurance principles and theories. Experience in directing and accomplishing work through subordinate supervisors and employees. Experience in the concepts, principles, and practices of Shipyard repair and overhaul of complex nuclear powered submarines. Experience communicating effectively orally and in writing.
