The Echocardiographer performs imaging procedures at a technical level without constant supervision, demonstrating independent judgment, ingenuity, and the ability to recognize critical pathologies. This role involves variable shifts between Sunday and Saturday, with typical shift times of 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., or 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The position includes occasional floating to Natrona Heights for coverage as needed, primarily Monday-Friday. Weekend work is required on a rotating basis, approximately one out of five weekends when fully staffed. There is no on-call requirement and no holiday coverage. Ready to make an impact? Responsibilities:
+ Communicates instructions and explains procedures clearly to reduce patient anxiety and encourage cooperation.
+ Confirms patient identity per policy; reviews history and physician orders; applies departmental protocols; documents history in electronic records.
+ Operates ultrasound equipment proficiently, ensuring optimal image quality and accurate documentation.
+ Interacts professionally with patients and colleagues, demonstrating care, respect, and teamwork to expedite patient care.
+ Codes and processes completed exams accurately; ensures proper charge entry.
+ Performs cardiac ultrasound procedures (TTE, TEE, stress echo, contrast studies) within established guidelines and timeframes.
+ Adheres to organizational values, policies, and procedures.
+ Functions independently within a reasonable timeframe; covers off-shifts, on-call duties, and satellite facilities while maintaining communication with leadership.
+ Assists physicians with invasive procedures, following universal protocol standards.
+ Obtains echocardiographic images per policy and industry standards, including M-Mode, 2D, Doppler, Color Flow, TEE, contrast, bubble studies, and stress echo.
+ Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.RDCS or RDMS registered or registry eligible preferred. Completion of the Physics portion of registry preferred. Must obtain RDCS or RDMS within 12 months of hire date.
