    We are seeking an energetic, skilled​ Driver- Class CDL A for openings in our facility in Arkansas City, KS.

     

    We operate 24 / 7, 7 days per week. Shift is 1:30p-9:30pm, this opportunity will require flexibility to work weekends and overtime.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    As part of our distribution team, you will ensure our food products are transported in a safe, timely manner between our production facility and warehouse; both are located in Arkansas City.

    Summary :

    Perform daily transportation functions by operating diesel-powered tractor-trailer. The driver will be responsible for transporting raw materials and finished good products between warehouse and manufacturing facility locally.

    Responsibilities Related to the Jo b:

    + Coordinate KanPak Quality activities and operations to meet objective for quality, food safety, integrity, regulatory compliances, cost, safety and customer satisfaction at KanPak

    + Participate in formulating and administering division’s short and long range goals and objectives for business growth

    + Operate Diesel-Powered Tractor Trailer

    + Apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations

    + Inspects trucks for defects before and after trips

    + Maintains driver log according to DOT regulations

    + Adhere to company rules and regulations

    + Always make safety a priority

    + Operate forklift / powered industrial truck as needed.

    + Pick up and return pallets, shells and assigned product at each delivery location.

    Social Responsibilities:

    + Maintain compliance with KanPak/GSF Code of Business Conduct, policies and procedures, management systems, and all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety and other regulations

    + Act according to KanPak’s Creed & Values

    Required Qualifications and Knowledg e:

    + Must have a valid Class A CDL license

    + Driving record must meet KanPak policy requirements

    + Ability to work weekends, nights and holidays as directed by the business.

    + Ability to lift/push/pull 50 pounds.

    + As required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, commercial drivers must read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the public, understand highway signs and traffic signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries in reports and records.

    Competencies/Job Skills:

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills

    + Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality

    + Excellent organizational skills

    + Demonstrated experience with a WMS/IC process

    + Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment safely, with certification where required.

    + Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management, order fulfillment, and documentation.

    Physical requirements described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is required to climb in/out of a diesel-powered tractor trailer; be able to grip and crank up/down landing gear on trailers; and open/close both roll and swing doors on trailers – all up to twenty times per shift. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

     

    The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and cold or hot conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
