Quality Engineering Manager
Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for a Quality Engineering Managar to support and drive results for one of our Hard Surface manufacturing plants. The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the plant’s Quality Engineering function, ensuring product compliance, driving continuous improvement, and serving as the primary liaison for customer claims and corporate quality initiatives. This role oversees quality systems, testing, auditing, and cross-functional quality communication throughout the facility.This position is located in Ringgold, GA.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead and develop the Quality Engineering team, including supervisors, lab personnel, and QA support staff.
+ Oversee all quality systems including Ignition QMS, SMS, MOC, eQT, eClaims, and the Corrective Action process.
+ Ensure compliance with calibration requirements, FloorScore testing, auditing standards, and yearly/biannual SMS audits.
+ Facilitate QIT/SLO meetings, SMS Management Reviews, and daily Tier 3 updates on quality performance.
+ Determine product grades and make ship/no-ship decisions.
+ Ensure timely, accurate completion of all product testing and reporting (LIMS, Central Lab submissions, XR/TPR/trials, test installs).
+ Maintain facility color standards and manage procurement and calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
+ Support new product development through testing coordination, product reviews, and standards creation.
+ Serve as the plant representative for customer claims, including communication with customers, reviewing returns, and coordinating with corporate quality and financial services.
+ Lead daily Customer Experience Audit meetings and maintain related scorecards and dashboards.
+ Analyze product performance data, claims trends, and testing results to inform leadership and drive corrective actions.
+ Engage in plant and product trials, change management processes, and cross-functional initiatives assigned by Plant or Divisional Quality leadership.
+ Manage procurement for test-related materials and retention samples.
+ Coordinate with print film and other suppliers regarding quality and outturn issues.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree.
+ Previous manufacturing experience including either supervisory and/or departmental leadership experience.
+ Good communication and organizational skills.
+ Ability to travel occasionally for quality related business initiatives.
+ Preferred
+ Experience in resilient manufacturing and ability to identify resilient defects is desired
+ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt
+ Working knowledge of Glink, LIMS, Claims System, eQT, Onbase, HQMS
+ Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
