    Job Description

    Handle a diverse range of routine commercial/Landlord-Tenant court hearings.

     

    Ensure compliance with housing-related regulations.

     

    Engage in dispute resolution and, if necessary, litigation proceedings.

     

    Support a senior associate and collaborate closely with several shareholders.

     

    Assist during all phases of the litigation process, from investigating claims, initiation/defense of a case, discovery, and through trial.

     

    Prepare and draft a variety of dispute or litigation-related documents (including discovery, pleadings and correspondence).

     

    Communicate effectively with clerk offices, clients, opposing attorneys and other team members via phone and email.

     

    Conduct legal research, including identifying relevant case law, determining proper legal parties to lawsuits and statuses of cases with courts.

    Skills and Requirements

    Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

     

    Admission to the DC state bar (VA and MD a plus) and in good standing. If not a member of the MD bar, ability to become one.

     

    Minimum of three years of experience practicing litigation, landlord tenant based litigation a plus.
