This position is located in St. Paul and may have the ability to telework.
This position provides support to the Agricultural Conservation Services Section (ACSS) via outreach and engagement with public and private sector partners statewide supporting planning and execution. Working with the ACSS Manager and entire ACSS staff, this position is in charge of coordinating the project operations of the Soil Health Financial Assistance Program (SHFAP), including the State’s Healthy Soil Management Plan and soil health grant making, the Climate Smart Farms Project, in addition to supporting Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification (MAWQC) program operations, evaluation, and revision. This position works closely with federal, state and local government personnel, private and nonprofit entities, and supervises state contractors engaged in ACSS services and communications/engagement initiatives related to overall program delivery.
Minimum Qualifications

+ One (1) year of experience working with agricultural producers or conservation organizations in Minnesota. NOTE: A Bachelor's degree in Agricultural or Environmental Science, Public Administration, Communications or a closely related field may substitute one (1) year of experience.
+ Working knowledge of water quality issues and environmental policies relevant to agricultural operations and landowners.
+ Working knowledge of agricultural production and resource conservation practices, programs, and government agencies.
+ Organizational, project management, communication, critical thinking and analytic skills.
+ Record keeping skills sufficient to maintain administrative and fiscal data and prepare reports.
+ Proficient in electronic communication and business writing sufficient to create and edit a variety of written documents.
+ The ability to celebrate diversity and a strong commitment to a respectful and inclusive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
+ More than one (1) year of experience working with agricultural producers or conservation organizations in Minnesota.
+ Experience coordinating project development and evaluation related to agriculture or natural resources conservation.
+ Experience in coalitions of diverse stakeholders, including private industry.
+ Experience with data management and research report development.
+ Experience working on projects with teams.
+ Experience working in an agricultural operation or an agriculture-related service provider.
