This position is eligible for hybrid telework. Employees living within 50 miles of the primary work location will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. Employees may reside outside the state of Minnesota if they live in a state bordering Minnesota and are within 50 miles of the primary work location. This position exists to provide administrative support by delivering technical information and services across a wide spectrum of CCLD Permitting and Division Operations. The role supports customers regulated by the CCLD Department unit by assisting with inquiries, conducting basic research based on applicable statutes and rules, and helping ensure accurate and timely responses. The position also provides in-person assistance to customers at the CCLD Help Desk located at DLI’s St. Paul office. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers in person, on the phone, and through e-mail and other written correspondence.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers and to read, explain and interpret a variety of materials to exam candidates.
• Math skills sufficient to perform basic calculations and assure proper fees are paid.
• Data entry skills sufficient to read source documents and enter data in database and to compile, sort and verify data accuracy before entering it.
• Database management skills sufficient to enter and retrieve data and run daily reports to verify data for completeness, accuracy and discrepancies.
• Skill working with Microsoft Office applications such as Teams, Outlook, Word, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.
• Language skills other than English (such as Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Karen or ASL).
