Job Summary
The General Utility Worker performs a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and support tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment within the facility. This role supports multiple departments and may include responsibilities such as dishwashing, floor care, trash removal, and general sanitation duties. The General Utility Worker follows established procedures and safety standards while providing excellent service to staff and visitors.
Essential Functions
+ Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and assigned facility spaces in accordance with department procedures and safety guidelines.
+ Collects and disposes of trash, recyclables, and biohazard waste according to proper protocols.
+ Operates dishwashing equipment and manually washes dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools as needed.
+ Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and maintains floors in designated areas.
+ Stocks and replenishes supplies and materials in assigned workstations.
+ Assists with basic maintenance or setup tasks, such as moving equipment or furniture.
+ Ensures all equipment is used and maintained safely and properly.
+ Reports maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to appropriate personnel.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
+ 0-1 years of custodial, utility, food service, or general labor experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
+ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, standing, and repetitive motion.
