Job Summary and Qualifications

At HCA West Florida, we are committed to creating a world-class experience for each patient. As part of our team, you will work alongside a dedicated group of professionals truly making a difference in the health and lives of the people of West Florida. We are currently seeking an Ultrasound Technologist on a part-time/full-time/PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As the Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for producing quality, diagnostic radiographs, and ready for Radiologist interpretation. Your tasks and responsibilities include:

+ Select appropriate procedure on EOP request; enter charge code into system correctly

+ Responsible for completed file to be turned into the Radiologist: main jacket with exam and time, correct inserts, interim and comparison films

+ Distribution of all dictated reports and charting, stapling, mailing, filing of return films and purging of file rooms during any slow time on shift

+ Ensure equipment table is kept clean, wiped down after every patient contact (including W/C, stretchers)

+ Ensure equipment maintenance needs are reported immediately to supervisor to ensure minimal down time and safety

Qualifications:

+ Allied health degree (2-year)

+ Successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

+ Valid ARDMS with a minimum of 1 specialty

+ Current BLS Certification

+ Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment specific to ultrasound

+ Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, sterile technique and patient positioning techniques

+ Knowledge of safety practices relative to radiation exposure, hazardous materials and infection control policies
