    Cleveland Clinic understands that keeping up with nutritional needs is essential to staying well. As a Dietary Aide, you will help us support patients' health by ensuring proper food handling and transportation. In this role, you can gain hands-on experience in a healthcare setting, all while making a difference in the lives of patients every day.

     

    A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 6:30AM - 3:00PM or 12:30PM - 9:00PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Perform a variety of duties to ensure proper distribution of prepared foods to patients, cafeteria guests and catered events.

    + Accurately set up and deliver patient trays and nourishments.

    + Distribute correct portions of food and beverage items.

    + Demonstrate working knowledge of specific therapeutic diets.

    + Follow department standards and procedures.

    + Utilize and rotate food products, appropriately store leftovers and label and date food items.

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + High School Diploma or GED

    + Six months of experience in food service

    + Experience working on a team

    + Hospitality experience

    Physical Requirements:

    + Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.

    + Ability to reach with hands and arms.

    + Ability to talk and hear.

    + Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

    + Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    + Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus also required.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
