    Summary:

    The OT Business Development Leader is a strategic, client-facing role focused on influencing client buying behavior and accelerating OT solution adoption among key shared accounts. This individual serves as the primary OT advocate within the Nebraska APR, driving client mindshare, technical credibility, and long-term preference for our integrated Rockwell Automation and ecosystem partner solutions. While revenue growth is the ultimate outcome, this role is measured on influence, pipeline velocity, client engagement depth, and development of future OT talent—not direct quota attainment.

     

    Reports to: Profit Center Manager

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Technology diploma in related technical field, or equivalent experience

    + Demonstrable knowledge & understanding of Networks and Cybersecurity industry and terminology.

    + Network Engineering Certification (CCNA or MCSE or equivalent) is preferred but not required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:

    + Strong interpersonal communications, analytical and problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills required.

    + Ability to influence and guide team members when required.

    + Experience working with vendors such as(but not limited to) Dell, Cisco, TD Synex, and Claroty

    Working Conditions:

    Mix of office and on-site customer visits. Travel time 50%.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Key Responsibilities

    Client Influence & Relationship Development

    • Act as the trusted OT advisor for impact customer accounts across the Nebraska APR.

    • Conduct executive-level OT roadmap sessions, assessments, and Purdue Model-aligned workshops to shape client investment priorities.

    • Influence specification and standardization on Rensenhouse supported technology partners & vendors such as, but not limited to (Aria Cybersecurity, Fortinet, Claroty, Dragos, Cisco, Dell, Panduit infrastructure, Rockwell Automation, etc.).

    • Deliver tailored OT training programs (lunch-and-learns, hands-on labs, certification prep) to client engineers, maintainers, IT and leadership teams.

    Internal & Ecosystem Collaboration

    • Partner with internal FactoryXT, OT Specialists, AIMM technicians, Cybersecurity Specialists, Network Engineers, Account Managers, and Inside Sales to build cohesive account strategies.

    • Orchestrate multi-vendor proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and demo environments that showcase end-to-end converged IT/OT architectures.

    • Serve as the voice of the client within distributor leadership meetings to align resources, pricing, and support programs with client initiatives.

    Talent Development

    • Mentor and develop OT Sales Trainees through ride-alongs, joint calls, solution design reviews, and formal training modules.

     

    Create and maintain an OT “playbook” of best practices, case studies, and reference architectures for use across the four Nebraska locations.

    Market & Technical Leadership

    • Host quarterly OT Roundtables and Technology Days in collaboration with technology & delivery partners.

    • Stay ahead of industry trends (IIoT, Industry 4.0, OT cybersecurity, edge computing) and translate them into client-relevant value propositions.

    • Contribute to distributor marketing content (whitepapers, webinars, social posts) that positions the company as the premier OT solutions provider in Nebraska.
