    Job Summary

    Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Behavioral Health team. This part-time, hospital-employed position is an excellent opportunity to provide meaningful mental health care in a supportive, patient-centered outpatient clinic. You’ll work collaboratively with psychiatrist, psychologist, and other behavioral health professionals to deliver high-quality care. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with a NYS License. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

     

    Core Job Responsibilities

     

    + Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care

    + Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

    + Monitor patient progress and adjust care as needed

    + Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, and medications

    + Opportunity to see both adult and child/adolescent populations

    + Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, social workers, and primary care providers

    + Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives

    + 3 days per week

    + Must be on site

    + Must have MHNP Certification

    + Must have geriatric experience

     

    Education/Experience Requirements

    REQUIRED:

    + Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.

    + Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.

    + Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges.

    + Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas.

    + Familiar with EHR/EMR software.

     

    Licensure/Certification Requirements

    REQUIRED:

    + Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.

    + Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.

    PREFERRED:

    + Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty
