WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The One Publishing Team, which sits within Global Communications, obsesses how to create great Nike stories, internally and externally. The team seeks disruption, values dexterity, displays initiative and elevates the thinking of the Global Communications team in service of better storytelling.
This role will report into the Director, One Publishing, Editorial Managing Editor. You will work closely with One Publishing teammates, along with teams across Global Communications and other functions in NIKE, Inc.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This Sr. Professional, Editorial role will be responsible for leading our NIKE, Inc. Newsroom, the source of truth for the innovations we create the athletes we partner with, and our NIKE, Inc. moments. This includes working with Global Communications teammates on Newsroom releases from conception to publication, helping to curate, write and edit the most compelling and newsworthy content that upholds our company narrative and engages and inspires media, consumers, employees and other NIKE, inc. stakeholders. Partnering closely with our One Publishing creative team, this role would also help guide the overall vision for packaging dynamic visual assets, ensuring the Newsroom stays ahead of emerging media trends and delivers premium and engaging assets that help storytellers share the NIKE, Inc. story.
This role will also have opportunity to support other One Publishing channels, reporting and creating pieces that give a behind-the-scenes look at NIKE, Inc.
The ideal candidate is an experienced writer and editor with a proven ability to deliver clear, compelling copy on deadline. They’re a quick study, with the ability to make editorial connections across a wide range of NIKE, Inc. sports, athletes and topics to help establish foundational points and emphasis within Newsroom releases. They are dedicated to contributing to a strong team dynamic, leading with trust, inclusion and empathy, and valuing team success through collaboration. They are driven, organized and an outstanding prioritizer.
The ideal candidate needs:
+ 6+ years of professional experience in journalism, communications, content and editorial strategy, or publishing
+ Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
+ 2-3+ years of experience writing for editorial, brand or similar outlets; a keen ability to turn complex information into clear, concise and compelling storytelling
+ Outstanding editorial packaging skills, with an eye for marrying dynamic copy with arresting multimedia visuals
+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with team members of all levels, clearly communicating ideas and strategy
+ An understanding of the evolving media and creator landscape; technical savviness
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Collaborating across multiple teams, you will drive the content for the NIKE, Inc. Newsroom, shaping, polishing and publishing news-making releases. As part of the One Publishing Team, you’ll also be tapped to contribute to editorial stories for other Comms-owned internal and external channels.
Your role is essential to convey the NIKE, Inc. story in an inspiring, memorable way, and your dedication to craft, accuracy, and new thinking will motivate other storytellers. You’ll accomplish this through:
+ Curating, writing, packaging and publishing the releases that appear in the NIKE, Inc. Newsroom
+ Maintaining an impeccable editorial calendar that reflects the day-to-day fluctuations of the Newsroom
+ Contributing reporting and writing to other One Publishing channels that will fuel premium storytelling, as opportunity and time allows
+ Working with the One Publishing Team to find Newsroom content synergy and amplification opportunities across internal and external Comms-owned channels
+ Partnering with the One Publishing creative team to deliverbest-in-class visual assets
+ Analyzing and applying insights and metrics to help guide our strategy and best practices
+ Socializing best practices for creating Newsroom releases with the Global Communications function and beyond
