Position Overview:

We are seeking a Project Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering aptitude to lead and manage capital projects in an established pulp and paper facility with over 85 years of operation. This role requires a hands-on, innovative professional who can deliver cost-effective solutions within a capital budget while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

-Manage 5–7 capital projects simultaneously, ranging from $20K to $1M, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

-Provide engineering support for utilities, machine finishing, and pulping areas, including piping systems for hazardous chemicals.

-Collaborate cross-functionally with area managers and department owners to align project goals.

-Oversee contractors and contracts, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.

-Maintain inspection programs for shutdowns and enforce process safety standards.

Experience:

-Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Civil/Structural Engineering.

-3–7 years in project engineering within pulp and paper or industrial manufacturing environments.

-Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under strict budget constraints.

Skills:

-Strong problem-solving and innovative thinking for cost-effective solutions.

-Proficiency in AutoCAD (preferred).

-Excellent communication and leadership skills for cross-functional team management.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Yulee, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
