Job Title: HVAC Technician

*Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an HVAC Technician, where you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems. This position offers an opportunity to work in a team-oriented environment while also enjoying the autonomy to excel independently. You will be engaged in a variety of tasks that ensure our clients' HVAC systems operate efficiently and safely.

*Responsibilities

+ Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork.

+ Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and provide effective solutions.

+ Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure HVAC systems are operating efficiently.

+ Replace or repair defective components, such as motors, thermostats, and compressors.

+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.

+ Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions about HVAC systems.

+ Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports and inventory management.

+ Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices.

*Essential Skills

+ High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or HVAC certification is a plus.

+ Proven experience as an HVAC technician - knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and maintenance procedures.

+ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

+ Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

+ Strong communication and customer service skills.

+ Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

*Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ EPA certification is ideal.

+ 6+ months' experience or familiarity with heating, cooling installation, electrical, construction skilled labor, or mechanical aptitude.

+ Assist journeyman technicians with delivery, installation, and troubleshooting heating and cooling equipment.

+ Comfortable bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting 100+ lbs as needed with team member.

+ Knowledge of tools such as Impact Drill, Sawzall, Wire Strippers, lighted level, Phillips and flat screwdriver, 8 oz hammer, drywall saw, ¼ malco bit, 4’’ bit adapter for impact drill, headlamp or flashlight, channel locks.

+ Skills in HVAC, Electrical, Troubleshooting, Repair, Installation, Plumbing, Refrigeration, HVAC System, Pro-Press, Soldering, HVAC Service, HVAC Installation, Mechanical, Preventive Maintenance, Sheet Metal, Air Conditioning.

*Work Environment

Work in a busy, team-oriented environment where you will be on call every 6 weeks after training, with compensation for on-call shifts. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to approximately 5 PM, with the expectation of working 60+ hours per week due to new projects. You will be paired with a journeyman, meeting either on the job site or at the shop to start the day. The dress code includes jeans, work boots, and a work-appropriate tee shirt, with t-shirts provided. Basic hand tools are required, with the potential to purchase power tools as you progress in your role.

This is a Permanent position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
